We walked into the Shed thinking it’d be another normal repair day… and within a couple of hours it felt like we were accidentally getting ready for a field test.

The metal detector?
Still refusing to play ball.
The feed rollers?
Still refusing to turn.

So it was time for some brute force and ignorance - bypass the wiring, throw 12v straight to the actuator… and bingo. A sticky set of 10-years-in-a-ditch feed rollers finally sparked into life.

Now what?
Michael returns from the lunchtime shop run with news: the neighbours are at grass, they’ve only two hours left before they’re finished… and the rain’s coming.

This is an opportunity not to miss. Suddenly every job on the harvester mattered a lot more than it had that morning.

We pushed on, but the harvester fought us the whole way as we tried to get it out the door. By the end of the day we had a machine that might run grass… or might stop dead the minute it sees something it doesn’t like. Either way, the next hour will sort the truth from the theory.

This is Part 9 of Project Harvester - the day that was supposed to be “just another repair session,” and suddenly turned into “get it ready… and get it tested.”
