What started as a simple day turning on pivots quickly turned into one of those farm days where EVERYTHING seemed to break.

From pivot gearbox damage and blown hoses to hydraulic issues, broken belts, and getting the dammer diker ready for potato season—it felt like every job came with another problem to solve. But that’s farming… you fix what’s broken and keep moving.

Today I’m out checking pivots, repairing irrigation problems, hooking up the dammer diker, and getting potato rows cultivated while the planters stay ahead of me. I also explain what the dammer diker actually does and why it’s such an important part of growing potatoes.

Some days everything goes smoothly. Today was not one of those days.

Hope you enjoy coming along for another real day on the farm.
