About Pastured Life Farms
Twelve years ago Dave and Ginger Shields lived in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. As their family grew, they moved to the suburbs but still felt crowded.

One day while doing homework, their 5-year-old didn't know eggs came from chickens but rather "Publix." This made the Shields parents realize how disconnected they all were from their food, which led them to start exploring rural areas around Florida to find a farm.

For two years the Shields researched farming methods and discovered Joel Salatin's pasture-based approach. In 2007 they finally found their land and began a new life as farmers.

They tried many ideas, failed at some but persisted and found success. As the Shields learned to provide food for their own family, they began providing for others too.

Their farm has slowly grown organically over the years into what it is today. Farm life has brought the Shields richer, more fulfilled lives surrounded by loved ones - the true meaning of life.
