Tristan & Aubyn Banwell met in high school band class in Northern California, though they went to college on opposite sides of the country - Tristan studying Natural Resources Conservation at University of British Columbia and Aubyn majoring in Studio Art at University of Puget Sound.

Tristan was raised doing chores on a rural homestead, while Aubyn grew up in suburban California, far from her grandmother's farming roots. As vegans in the city, they felt they didn't have access to ethical meat.

In 2009, they began off-grid homesteading on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. As their farming skills grew, they raised chickens, ducks, goats and pigs. Before long, they were selling vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, meats and eggs, realizing this was their calling.

After putting their dream out to the world, a client connection led them to shared ownership of Spray Creek Ranch in Canada with partners in Seattle. Tristan and Aubyn manage the day-to-day regenerative ranching, influenced by various schools of thought and leaders in the field.
